Privacy policy
CreatorMaze is built so that there is almost nothing to write here. This page says exactly what is processed when you visit this website or run the app — and what never is.
The short version
- No cookies. This website sets none — neither its own nor anyone else’s. That is why there is no consent banner.
- No analytics and no tracking. There is no Google Analytics, no pixel, no heat map and no A/B testing tool.
- No embedded third parties. Fonts, images and scripts are all served from this domain. No Google Fonts, no CDN, no social widgets — so no third party learns that you were here.
- No account. The app has no sign-up, and there is nothing to log in to.
- Your footage, tags and libraries never reach us. They stay on your Mac and your own drives. There is no server that could receive them.

Visiting this website
This site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. Delivering a web page technically requires the server to receive and briefly log the following:
- your IP address
- the date and time of the request
- the page or file requested, and the amount of data transferred
- the browser and operating system reported by your browser
- the referring page, if your browser sent one
Purpose: delivering the site, and detecting and defending against attacks and abuse. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in operating a website that works and is not knocked over. Retention: these logs are kept for a short period by the hosting provider and are not combined with anything else, not used to build a profile, and never used to identify you.
Vercel processes this data as our processor under Art. 28 GDPR. Transfers to the United States are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and Vercel’s certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Vercel’s own privacy notice is at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Downloading the app
Downloading the disk image is an ordinary file request and is logged exactly as described above. Nothing is asked of you, and no email address is collected.
Automatic update checks
CreatorMaze checks https://creatormaze.com/appcast.xml in the background to find out whether a newer version exists. That request reaches our host and, like any web request, discloses your IP address, the time and the version of the app making the request. No identifier is attached, no profile is built, and the request contains nothing about your libraries, your footage or how you use the app.
Legal basis:Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our and your legitimate interest in you running a version that is current and secure. The check can be switched off at any time in the app’s settings; the app then keeps working and simply stops being told about new versions.
What the app does on your Mac
Everything else CreatorMaze does happens locally and is never transmitted:
- Your libraries, clips, tags, ratings, notes and search history stay on your own drives. Tags are written to small files beside your footage; we never see them.
- Image recognition and AI search run on your Mac through Apple’s on-device frameworks. No frame and no search query is uploaded, to us or to anyone else.
- Your media files themselves are only ever read, never modified, moved, renamed or copied.
- There is no telemetry, no crash reporting and no usage statistics.
Contacting us
If you write to info@5pieces.de, we process your address and the content of your message in order to answer it (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Correspondence is deleted once it is settled and no statutory retention period applies.
Your rights
You have the right, at any time, to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR)
- have data erased (Art. 17 GDPR)
- have processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR)
- receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR)
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
Use the email address above for any of these. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR) — in our case the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, or the authority where you live.
Changes
If this policy needs to change — for instance because the app gains an optional account, which is planned but does not exist today — the new version appears here and the review date at the bottom of the page changes with it. 5pieces will not quietly start collecting something this page says it does not.
